Ian Forbes, (JP), has over 30 years of experience in Management, Sales & Marketing, and is presently the Managing Director of Sherwin Williams (West Indies) Limited since 2001. Under his stewardship Sherwin-Williams has become one of the top 2 paint companies in Jamaica, remaining consistently profitable throughout his tenure, receiving numerous awards both locally and internationally.

Ian, a former executive member of JAAA (1996-2000), is a certified International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Track & Field Official. His foray into Track and Field started at age 6, by tying the tape across the finish line. He has officiated at Track and Field meets across Jamaica for over 40 years, (including Boys and Girls Champs) as well as the annual Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 1996.

Ian has served in positions from Wind Gauge Reader, for which he was trained while still a student at Jamaica College to Assistant Competition Director at The IAAF Junior Track and Field Championships in Kingston Jamaica 2002.

He has managed numerous Jamaican Track & Field Teams to overseas meets, with his most recent assignments being:
Assistant Manager of Jamaica’s Team to the IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Athletics in Berlin, Germany in August 2009
Manager of Jamaica’s Team to the IAAF World Junior Track & Field Championships in Athletics in Bydgoszcz, Poland in August 2008.
Assistant Manager of Jamaica’s Team to the 28th Olympiad in Athens, Greece in August 2004.
Manager of Jamaica’s Team to IAAF World Youth Track & Field Championships in Sherbrooke, Canada in 2003
Manager of three Carifta Games Teams
Ian is an active member of several clubs and societies and a member of several boards, including currently serving as Chairman, United Way, Vice-President of Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association (JMA) and Vice President of Amcham Jamaica and former Chairman of The Institute Of Sports(INSPORTS).

He has made an invaluable contribution to the companies to which he has been employed, to the sporting activities of Jamaica and to the society as a whole through volunteerism. His efforts have been recognized officially on numerous occasions.
