Jamaicans rampant in Birmingham

Omar McLeod, Yohan Blake, Akeem Bloomfield and Danielle Williams were winners at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was third in the 200m.

Jamaica predicted to win 10 medals in Doha

Only double Olympic champions Shelly –Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson are predicted to win individual gold medals for Jamaica at the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar, next month, according, arguably the most respectable magazine of the sport. Jamaican athletes are predicted to win 10 medals.

Jamaica's athletes win 17 medals at Pan Ams


Jamaica's track and field athletes continued their preparation for the IAAF World Championships as they picked up a total of 17 medals at the 2019 Pan Amedrican Games which concluded on Sunday in Lima, Peru. The haul  consists of six gold, five silver, and six bronze.

Shericka Jackson is Golden at Pan Ams

Jamaican athletes had a good 3rd day at the Pan American Games in Peru.

Pride of place went to Shericka Jackson who took gold in the women’s 400m final in 50.73. She was clear of Mexico’s Paola Moran (51.02) and Courtney Okolo (51.22) of the USA.

Thompson, Goule win Gold

Double Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson won the 100m at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

Thompson won with 11.18 seconds, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle-Lee Ahye (11.27) and Vitória Cristina Rosa (11.30), who were second and third-respectively. Her teammate Natasha Morrison was sixth in 11.40 seconds.

Dacres win gold at Pan American Games

Fedrick Dacres threw 67.68m to win gold at the Pan Amercan Games on Tuesday. Another Jamaican, Traves Smikle, took silver with 65.02m ahead of the USA’s Reginald Jagers III, with 64.48m.

Jamaicans shine brightly at London DL

Danielle Williams showed that the controversial events at the National championships have not affected her negatively by posting a new National record 12.32 in the sprint hurdles at the London Diamond league. She ran 12.41 in the heats earlier. This win sees her leading the event on points in the Diamond League, needing an outright win (on points) if she is to be considered for an IAAF wild card to the World Championships.  

No Jamaican winner @ Monaco DL

There was no Jamaican winner at the Monaco Diamond League but the Jamaican participants exhibited relatively good form, bearing in mind that the IAAF World Championships are ten weeks away.
